Emmaus College opts for a smart and mobile bicycle solution from STREET-STUFF!
A full bicycle square at Emmaus College – and that is exactly the intention. During the summer holidays, STREET-STUFF! installed more than 1200 new bicycle spaces. Now that school has started again, the result is immediately noticeable. The entire square looks neat, organized and is used intensively.
The bicycle racks are practical and future-proof. Each unit is on a sustainable grid that can easily be moved to the new school location. The move therefore does not require any new investment in bicycle parking facilities. At the new location, the grids are seamlessly integrated into the paving. By leaving two strips of 30×30 centimetres open in line in the paving, space is created to firmly place the grids. This smart system not only ensures reuse, but also effective drainage over the entire surface. This keeps puddles out and the square remains safe to walk on, even in the rain.
In addition, the clear lines on the square provide clarity. Students can see at a glance where they can park their bicycle. This makes it easier for the caretaker to manage parking. Is there a bicycle outside the lines? Then it is quickly moved, so that the aisles remain clear. This ensures a smooth flow, especially at busy times such as before school and during breaks.
The Emmaus College benefits from several advantages with this approach:
• More than 1200 accessible bicycle spaces
• A manageable and clear square
• Flexible, movable facilities
• Smart drainage without additional infrastructure
This collaboration with STREET-STUFF! demonstrates how educational institutions can invest in sustainable and practical bicycle solutions. The result is not only functional, but also future-oriented.
